EdSe 4222 Teaching Mathematics in Grades 5-12: Watch and analyze web-based videos on mathematics teaching. Videos sources include Annenberg Media and Teacher Tube. Work with mathematics-based applets in order to examine the mathematics and to determine how the applets can be used in teaching. Applet sources include www.nctm.org, http://nlvm.usu.edu, and www.shodor.org/interactivate. Examine the appropriate use of graphing calculators in the mathematics education classroom.

Educ 4226 Geometry for Teachers in Grades 5-8: Geometer's Sketchpad (on the computer cart): Experience the process of exploring geometry topics with Geometer's Sketchpad

Educ 4228 Teaching Mathematics with Technology: The whole course is based on examining the teaching and learning of mathematics topics through the use of technology. The technology used in this course includes the following: Geometer's Sketchpad (getting at the non-geometry uses of Sketchpad); TI-Navigator (on the computer cart), TinkerPlots (on the computer cart), LOGO (on the computer cart), graphing calculators including the programming feature, and excel spreadsheets (on the computer cart).
